Eunus and Curetius: understanding the limits of comedy in some of Claudian and Ausonius’ sexual epigrams
Les bornes du comique dans quelques épigrammes sexuelles d’Ausone et de Claudien : autour d’Eunus et de Curète
Abstract
The epigrammatic genre is renowned for its comic potential and for the ludic possibilities offered to the reader. This study specifically aims at confronting these two aspects in relation with the sexual dimension contained in the epigrams of Claudian and Ausonius, in order to observe the interactions between these three dimensions (comic, ludic, sexuality) and to define the means and the limits of the comic and the ludic aspects.
